Getting Started with Scaler 3: Chord Progressions and MIDI Magic

I kicked things off with Scaler 3, a tool that’s perfect for writing and arranging songs fast. In the video, I picked a random chord progression in C major, dragged it into Logic Pro as MIDI, and started building. I grabbed a piano sound for the chords, a vintage soul bass for the baseline, and a rhythmic phrase to spice things up. Scaler 3’s ability to generate ideas on the spot is a game-changer for anyone looking to jumpstart their songwriting.

Bringing the Track to Life with Co-Producer by Output

Co-Producer’s sound library is packed with options, and I was just ad-libbing—looping, tweaking, and layering until it felt right.

I threw in a rap vocal (distorted, but it worked for the vibe), chopped a snare drum, and built a hook, verse, and bridge. The beauty of Co-Producer is how quickly you can experiment and stack sounds. It took over the track, so I ended up muting Scaler’s piano to let the new elements shine.

Pro Tip: Use Co-Producer to layer unexpected elements like brass or vocals—it’s a fast way to create a unique groove!

The Final Result: A Funky Experiment

After an hour of messing around, I landed on a short track with a hook, verse, and bridge. It’s not a polished masterpiece (yet!), but it’s a solid proof-of-concept. The rap lyrics—“No stressing, I’m getting dividends, steady counting up my blessings”—paired with the horn section and funky guitar gave it a cool, laid-back energy. If I were to finish this song, I’d write my own melodies and topline, but for a quick experiment, I’m impressed with how Scaler 3 and Co-Producer sparked my creativity.
